5th Good France Event/ Thursday March 21, 2019

In Canada, 24 restaurants are participating in the Good France event to celebrate the vitality and creativity of French gastronomy.

Ottawa, March 14, 2019 – A unique global event taking place in over 150 countries across 5 continents, Goût de/Good France is bringing together chefs from around the world for the 5th consecutive year.

They will be offering a French-style menu on Thursday March 21, 2019, including starter(s), main course, cheese course and dessert, based around socially responsible cuisine using less fat, sugar and salt, respectful of our planet and healthy eating. In the wake of the COP 21, France and Canada are at the forefront of global environmental action. This year, Goût de/Good France, the benchmark event for the promotion of French gastronomy, will be adopting an approach that is more respectful of our planet’s resources.

In Canada, 24 restaurants have signed up in Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec and Moncton, and even Kelowna (BC) and Morden (MB). The complete list of participating Canadian restaurants can be found below and on the Good/Goût de France event website.

Kareen Rispal, French Ambassador to Canada, stated that: “The French gastronomic meal, included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage, is all about togetherness, freshness and creativity. It favours healthy and locally-sourced products. Concern for the environment and for health is a value shared by both Canada and France. I would like to give a warm thanks to the Canadian chefs who helped make this March 21 a special event for France’s culinary heritage, enriched with Canadian flavour. Bon appétit!”
